Nepotism

Nepotism is becoming a norm in Ghana and I believe it’s hurting our country terribly. I’m not saying it’s totally bad but when someone only gets a job because of their last name, what message are we sending across to Ghanaians?

Graduates and competent individuals are finding it so hard to get jobs because of this. Young people are gradually getting fed up with it and are giving up because they believe the only way to get to the top is to know or be related to the boss. It’s no more on merit.

We are raising a lazy generation. It’s healthy when these relatives have the qualifications or talent or knowhow to fill the position. It’s great to keep the family tradition going by getting your relatives involved in the family business but we also need to welcome others in order to promote national development.

We our contributing to unemployment when we allow nepotism to rule.

Ghanaians, we must change our ways!
