Potential

We all have great potential here on earth.  Our homes, our neighborhoods, towns, cities or countries are waiting for us. For our energy that will turn a glimmer of hope, into a flame that will light the way forward.

With God’s help we can achieve what initially looked impossible.

As a matter of fact God says: “I alone know the plans I have for you, plans to bring you prosperity and not disaster, plans to bring about the future you hope for.” Jeremiah 29:11 (GNB)

But we make mistakes in life. The type of mistakes that bring shame. The type of shame that’s hard to forget, even after we have genuinely confessed and been forgiven for it. It’s just our makeup. That shame limits people’s potential. Not every one of course, but a lot of people.

Jesus understood this problem. He knew if he ever sinned, a time would come when the shame of it would be a hindrance. He of all people knew that he must be free of guilt, so that he could pay the price for our sins. Once and for all!

When Jesus was about to embark on the most ambitious plan the world had ever seen: the cross, he said something interesting.

He said: “…the chief of this godless world is about to attack. But don’t worry – he has nothing on me, no claim on me. But so the world might know how thoroughly I love the Father, I am carrying out my Father’s instructions right down to the last detail. Get up. Let’s go. It’s time to leave here.” John 14:30-31 (MSG)

It’s time to get on with your plans. With God’s help!
